SIR,

Following your excellent reporting of the death of my husband, Dr Manmohan Singh Matharu OBE, I have been truly humbled by the warmth of sympathy and good feeling from so many of the people of Monmouth.

They have expressed so much appreciation for the work he tried to do, and indeed affection for him as a person.

Thank you all so much, particularly those I have been unable to thank in person.

I would also like to thank the paramedics who so valiantly tried to resuscitate him, but through no fault on their part it proved to be an impossible task.

Thank you all once again for your support and kindness.
