On the first sunny day for a month Goodrich set off for the long trip to Builth in a happy mood. This mood was enhanced as the Goodrich captain won the toss and put Builth in to bat on a damp wicket. The Builth openers got away to a good start with an opening stand of 63 off 17 untidy overs. With acceleration now expected R Davies and A Russell came to the fore as they bowled straight and full. The Builth batsman had no reply as wickets fell steadily. Builth were finally dismissed for 145 with R Davies bowling 12 overs for 33 runs with 4 wickets. A Russell finished with 12 overs 58 runs and 4 wickets. After tea Goodrich set off to nullify the opening attack. This was achieved with an opening stand of 45. All the Goodrich batsman T Beddard 23, R Lord 19, P Evans 18 and J O'Brien 16 no played with discipline, but it was left to skipper Andy Brown to finish the game in style as he scored 54 not out off 15 overs. Builth Wells were 145 all out Goodrich 147 for 3 Goodrich won by 7 wickets.
