Monmouth Seniors Open was played on Friday in what, for this year, was a reaonable and dry day. There were 142 entries of which 136 returned their cards, including 87 visitors from 35 different golf clubs. Forty per cent of the visitors were from the Bristol area , the links to the Gloucestershire and Somerset Opens Group being a great asset in this respect.
The organisation of the day by Terry Rogers and Hywel Jones was excellent, they were supported superbly by the Ladies section, particularly Marion Workman, Vera Reeks and Pat Sullivan, all of whom worked extremely hard to ensure the success of the day.
