Kicking up a stir on the football fields is what is believed to be Monmouth's first all girl U16 team. Playing on the Rockfield Rovers ground, the team are practising hard for the upcoming competitions in the Newport and District League this winter, competing against clubs from Cwmbran, Abergavenny, Caerleon and Crickhowell. "We are looking for any other girls from 11- 16 to join us," said a team official, "just come along on Tuesday nights between 6 and 8 and join in the training on the football fields by the Rockfield Community centre."
