Former Monmouth Comprehensive School pupil, Olly Alexander is in the news again. This week Olly Alexander, 24, was number one in the official UK charts with his electro pop group, Years & Years.

The group topped the BBC's Sound of 2015 list and have scored their first number one on the UK singles chart with their track 'King'.

King sold 101,000 copies according to the Official Charts Company.

In the singles race, Years & Years ended the four-week reign of Ellie Goulding, whose Love Me Like You Do has dropped to number two.

Earlier this year the group topped the BBC Music Sound of 2015

Years and Years have achieved all this despite not having yet released their debut album.

Talented Olly has also had a successful acting career, appearing in plays with the likes of Dame Judi Dench and Ben Whishaw.
