FOOD lovers were treated to a cookery masterclass from two Italian professional chefs last weekend.
On Saturday 21st October, Franco Taruschio and Lindy Wildsmith kicked off the first Chef’s Room Cookery School at Bridges Centre in Monmouth with a bang.
The first cookery school was ‘Autumn in Italy’ where people learnt how to cook gnocchi with gorgonzola and pheasant with chestnuts, onions and French beans, just to name a few dishes everyone learnt to cook.
Franco and Lindy brought their wealth of knowledge about Italian cuisine to life through energetic hands-on demonstrations.
Everyone who attended was overwhelmed with just how much they learnt and achieved at The Chef’s Room.
After the participants learnt how to cook these dishes with Franco and Lindy’s expert guidance, they all sat down together to taste their success. Tom Innes, from Fingal Rock wines, gave a very interesting talk on pairing wine with these dishes, offering a glass to taste with their meal.
The December course is sold out, but new dates for 2018 are on Saturday 22nd January when participants would be learning how to prepare, fillet and cook delicious Italian fish dishes. Then on Saturday 24th February they would be feeling very Welsh in the lead up to St David’s Day with a Welsh Fusion course.
