YOU can take a step back in time to the Middle Ages next month, when knights of old come to life at the Monmouth Medieval Festival.
The family-friendly Monmouth Town council-organised event takes place at Vauxhall Field, Monnow Bridge and Monmouth Castle – birthplace of King Henry V – on Saturday, July 5.
This is the third time the council will be hosting the event with support from local volunteers across the community.
The historical entertainment will include re-enactments, falconry displays, a medieval traders market and other attractions.
It is free entry to the event, which involves some of the most historic buildings in town, and also features medieval surgery, displays of archery and sword craft and children's activities.
