SIR,

It is with great regret that on 13th November, our tea rooms here at Millbrook Garden Centre will be closing.

For a long time the tea rooms have been running at a loss, which has had to be funded by profits from the garden centre.

In view of the current economic climate, we have decided that it is no longer prudent to continue funding a failing part of the business.

Despite our efforts to make the tea rooms viable, increasing fuel, food and other costs, could threaten the future of the garden centre itself.

We would like to thank our tea room customers, suppliers and staff for their support over the last 13 years.

Finally, we would like to reassure our customers that we have no plans to close the garden centre.

In fact we have recently spent a considerable amount of money on improvements to the front of our shop and increased the coverage of our CCTV and alarm system.

Janet and Geoff Wright
