A SPACE shuttle has crashed into the grounds of Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery.

Children from Year 2 examined the wreckage wearing waterproof trousers, boots, safety goggles and masks before moving in with petri-dishes and swabs to gather evidence from the crash site.

Last Thursday’s (11th January) the sensitively staged scenario was part of the ‘Out of this World’ theme which the children are enjoying. Children had returned to Agincourt at the beginning of the new term to find a space shuttle on the outside storage shed and their classrooms transformed.

During their voyage of scientific discovery, the children have built a model of the solar system from fruit and crawled inside a giant inflatable dome to learn about space and planets.
