A 29 year old Monmouth man was fined £100 by Abergavenny Magistrates last week following the discovery of 0.9 grams of cannabis resin in his front, left hand trouser pocket.
Keith Lewis Buffrey, of Troy Way, admitted the charge.
The court heard that the defendant was an occasional user of cannabis and that only a very small amount was involved. He had no previous convictions.
The Magistrates ordered that the drug be forfeited and destroyed.
