Global packaging company, Tri-Wall, has been planting trees at its UK base to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and to enhance its green credentials.

The Chairman and CEO of Tri-Wall, Yuji Suzuki, headed up a delegation from Japan on a recent factory visit to the company’s UK base in Monmouth.

They were joined by Tri-Wall UK’s CEO Gavin Peters, Finance Director, Stuart Ellis and newly appointed Operations Director, Stephen Ridley, for an informal ceremony to plant two Japanese Cherry Blossoms and a Hornbeam, a species native to this country.

The Queen’s Green Canopy is a unique initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s 70 years on the throne by encouraging, individuals, charities and businesses to plant trees in their local area.

Gavin Peters commented: “We were delighted to be joined by Suzuki-San and our colleagues from the Far East for this landmark occasion. Planting the trees was a fitting way for us to mark the Queen’s extraordinary service to the nation.”

He added: “At Tri-Wall, we have a global commitment to sustainability. Since 2007, the Tri-Wall Group has planted over half a million trees around the world in our efforts to combat climate change and we plan to increase the number of trees planted by 30 per cent by 2025. We also aim to increase our investments in climate research by a similar figure within the same time frame.”.

We are working very hard across the globe to deliver on these key initiatives, as the company looks to expand its operations.”
