Training began this week for staff of two Monmouth businesses now that two new defibrillators that have been raised through public donations.

Helmet Hair began raising money following an incident in Agincourt Square, to fund a defibrillator for the premises. The appeal was so successful that Darren Childs, owner of the hairdressers in Church Street was able to purchase a second machine, which is being located at Handyman House at the other end of town.

Staff from both businesses had a two hour lesson in CPR and how to operate the life-saving equipment, which is now registered with the health service, and will be able to cope with a similar medical emergency that first sparked the idea of providing the machines in the first place.
