AFTER 50 years in retail, Cynthia Buxton of Monmouth’s WHSmiths has retired.

Cynthia joined the national newsagents 14 years ago. She said: “I have enjoyed helping our customers and I have worked with some brilliant staff, I have gone through four managers and I have had a superb supervisor. I have watched youngsters from Monmouth Comprehensive come and go on to do amazing things.”

Cynthia has sold countless Monmouthshire Beacons in her 14 years with the store.

She added: “I would like to say thank you to my manager, Ian and to my supervisor, Helen, who I have been working with for over 10 years.

“I would also like to say a big thank you to all the staff I have worked with over the years and all the wonderful customers”.

Cynthia is now planning to travel during her retirement.

Wishing WHSmiths continuous success, she hung up her work shoes on Friday 29th June.
