A PACKAGE of four tickets to watch an England one-day international next summer is the top prize going under the hammer at Monmouth Cricket Club's dinner this Friday (November 2). Surridge Sport has donated tickets for the England versus South Africa cricket international being played at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff in September. A signed Hereford United FC playing shirt, two weekday greenfee day tickets for the Rolls of Monmouth Golf Club and a signed and framed Wales rugby shirt are also among items to be auctioned on the evening. England and Gloucestershire cricketer Jon Lewis is the special guest at the dinner which is taking place at the Blake Theatre in Monmouth. The club are expecting a bumper turn-out of more than 130 people with the event being staged to raise funds for their growing junior section. Master of ceremonies for the evening is former Somerset all-rounder Graham Burgess, while there will be short speeches from David Davies MP and club chairman Pat Baker. Other items for the auction include: a signed and framed England cricket shirt; limited edition signed Ashley Giles t-shirt; adult bat, pads and gloves; junior bat, pads and gloves; signed and framed England cricket team photograph; hand-crafted ladies' perfume holder. There will also be a raffle on the evening, with prizes including: meal for two at the Misbah Tandoori Restaurant; Black&Decker power drill donated by Handyman House; cricket bag donated by Surridge Sport; cosmetics donated by Stokes Chemist; video tapes donated by Graham's Electricals; £10 gift voucher donated by Waitrose supermarket; and a case of wine donated by Overmonnow Stores.
