A MONMOUTHSHIRE woman has avoided a disqualification from the roads but does receive three penalty points, after admitting a speeding offence.

Wendy Bowart, 62, of Orchard Gardens, Portskewett, pleaded guilty at Cwmbran Magistrates’ Court to driving 53 miles-per-hour in a 40 miles-per-hour area, on the A48 Chepstow Road, Newport.

Bowart was fined £40, reduced from £60 due to her early guilty plea.
