Artwork will be displayed on enormous sheets of cardboard provided by Tri-Wall to illustrate Monmouth’s past, present and future. The project is in collaboration with Empty Space CIC and numerous other schools and community groups across the town, including: Monmouth Comprehensive School, Haberdashers’ Monmouth School, U3A, Monmouth Library and Community and numerous local artists.

Residents have been gathering for workshops in the library all working on creative designs to represent the chosen theme. The artwork will be displayed in the library for at least six weeks from Monday October 19, providing an opportunity for the community to see all the hard work put in to creating canvas’s which represent Monmouth.

Helen Wragg, one of the Directors of Empty Space CIC (Community Interest Company) said: “We have eight different groups and we have all been working on ideas about Monmouth. They’re stories about Monmouth, linking in with National Year of Reading.

“It’s a celebration of our town and people.”
