A 21-year-old Milkwall man who drove while more than twice over the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the roads for a year and fined £392.

Ewan Childs of Bluebell Close, Milkwall, was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £157 surcharge by Cheltenham Magistrates.

He admitted that on 2nd July this year he drove on the A48 at Rock Lane, Westbury on Severn, with 71mcgs of alcohol on his breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

He was told that if he completes an approved driving course at his own expense by 7th August next year he will have his ban reduced by 18 weeks.
