Three Church of England primary schools have created a Global Curriculum with schools in India in order to strengthen both country's understanding of one another.
Working as a 'cluster' of schools, Redbrook C of E Primary, St. Johns Academy and Tutshill Primary have paired up with three schools in the Diocese of Dornakal, India within the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Three teachers from the partnered schools visited the UK earlier this year for the last week of May.
Completing their return visit, three teachers from Redbrook, Tutshill and St John's Academy visited India from 10th to 17th October. Daniel Saturley of Redbrook C of E, Rachel Griffiths of St. Johns Academy, and Linda Harrison of Tutshill C of E Primary were also accompanied by Youth Minister Janice Hamilton, who visited on behalf of Gloucestershire Diocese.
"I can honestly say that my trip to India was a life-changing experience. I felt extremely welcome within the CSI Primary in Madiripuram," said Redbrook teacher Daniel Saturley.
"The Reverend George, who accommodated me, treated me like a son and I will cherish the time I spent there.
"I was staggered by the level of respect the children had for their teachers and similarly the level of dedication the teachers and hostel leaders had for the children. As the children boarded at the school, they very few possessions and learning resources. However, they were so well looked after and were the happiest children you would ever want to meet".
The partnered schools are Tutshill C of E School and Yetapaka and Thurlpaka CSI Primary Schools; Redbrook C of E School and Madiripuram CSI Primary and High School; St John's C of E Academy and Dornakal CSI Primary School.
"We are now working to ensure the link between the partnered schools grows in strength so that the children of all schools can better appreciate the learning and culture that goes on within other countries," said Daniel.
