FORMER Penallt farmer’s daughter-turned-illustrator Sarah Edmonds has a new children’s book on the shelves.

Build Your Own Discovery Globe (published by Walker Books, written by Leon Gray) is for all young adventurers. It includes a kit to make your own spinning cardboard globe, along with a fully illustrated Explorers’ Guide covering topics such as rainforests, cities, peoples and cultures across the whole world.

Sarah was a pupil at Trellech Primary School and Monmouth Comprehensive, having grown up on a farm in nearby Penallt. Her recent commissions include working with St Fagans National History Museum on the mural designs for their new exhibition spaces, and creating the illustrated map of Roald Dahl’s Cardiff for his centenary celebrations. She is currently working on her next children’s book. Sarah also designs and produces her own collection of nature-led gifts, sold online and in selected shops.

She lives and works by the sea in Worthing, West Sussex, with her partner Matt. She frequently returns to the Monmouth area to visit her family and their two beloved sheep dogs.
