Monmouth’s first Green Top market was in full swing last Wednesday.

Traders around the area impressed visitors and residents of the town with everything from craft materials, so vintage metal decorative plates, to authentic Lydney Burritos. Fortunately for traders and shoppers, the weather on launch day was reasonably mild.

The Monmouth market takes place every first Sunday and fourth Wednesday of the month and takes place in the Cattle Market car park.

Green Top markets have been running in other parts of Monmouthshire for some time.

Their Chepstow Town market takes place every week on Sunday, from 11am to 3pm on Chepstow high street.

Other Green Top markets in the area can be found at: Caldicot, Cinderford, Coleford, Magor, Ross-On-Wye (every fourth Friday of the month), and Usk (every first Wednesday, 2nd Sunday and the last Saturday of the month).

Based in South Wales, their food and craft markets have a very particular ethos. They aim to promote local produce and local people whilst creating a community hub within a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Details of all Green Top markets and events can be found at GreenTopEvents.co.uk.
