Rossiter Books in Monmouth will join a three-day celebration of bookshops across Wales, featuring pre-planned itineraries, guided groups, online talks and events, and special offers in selected bookshops.

The Big Welsh Bookshop Crawl is a fun way to connect with fellow booklovers, while discovering and supporting independent, second hand and charity bookshops across Wales.

Rossiter Books in Church Street will join in activities on Friday August 5 and Saturday 6.

This is the first time running the event across an entire country. Anyone interested is free to get involved however suits them. A Welcome Pack can be downloaded on a pay-as-you feel basis from the website, which will contain maps of participating shops and an ID tag to unlock perks and discounts in selected shops. These can be used by individuals or groups to plan their own tours, using the hashtag #BigWelshBookshopCrawl to share their experiences.

For the first time since 2020, there will be guided groups happening in Cardiff and Hay on Wye. Led by the Bookshop Crawl Team these groups offer a chance to meet and connect with fellow book lovers and be led around a pre-planned itinerary of bookshops, with a chance to swap book recommendations and stop for tea and cake along the way. Tickets can be booked through the ticket shop.

If you can’t make it to Wales, you can participate online through various twitter chats, interviews with booksellers and authors, using the hashtags and sharing your bookish ‘5 Quick Things’ via the YouTube channel.

With many bookshops signed up to participate, and more showcased on the Big List, the expansion of the Summer Bookshop Crawl has been hailed by booksellers across the country
