Monmouth Bowls Club played host to Caldicot in their opening East Monmouthshire League match.
Two years ago after winning all of their previous games Monmouth lost to Caldicot in the final EMBA match of the season which denied Monmouth the league winner's trophy. Indeed, you would need to be a long serving club member to remember the last time Monmouth beat Caldicot.
