A Monmouth schoolgirl is hoping to be crowned the UK's Teen Princess after being spotted at a fashion show.

Beth Maddocks, a Year 9 pupil at Monmouth Comprehensive School, has already enjoyed a London photoshoot but needs the help of the public if she is to reach the final of the beauty pageant.

"I went to the Clothes Show in Bristol and had my photo taken," said the 13-year-old.

"A few weeks later I received a letter telling me I was through to the next round. I had to send them my details and another picture and was chosen to go for a photoshoot in London.

"It was really fun and now my picture is online for people to vote for."

If Beth gets enough votes she will be invited to the Teen Queen Live Final and compete for prizes including a fashion portfolio, modelling opportunities and a trip to Africa – the pageant, for girls aged 13 to 19, raises money for the Make A Difference (MAD) Foundation.

"Modelling is something I've always wanted to do," added Beth.

To vote for Beth text TP06 to 81319. Texts cost 75p, which goes to the MAD Foundation's work in Africa, South America and Asia.
