Monmouth 1st XI got their season back on track with a convincing win over Belbroughton in their Worcestershire County League match.

Monmouth were given the chance to bowl first and made the opportunity count with opening bowlers Jon Roberts (2-52) and Australian Andy McGuire (1-45) sparking a Belbroughton collapse. Tej Saran (pictured below) was the pick of the bowlers, after he claimed 3 for 27, whilst there were also wickets for Aled Jones and Paul Swingwood. A sorry scorecard for Belbroughton was only saved by an unbeaten 46 from tail-ender Ben Taylor as they finished on 177 for 9.

In reply, Monmouth's top order continued to struggle and they were soon three wickets down, thanks to excellent bowling from spinner Robert Hawk. However, Dave Teague scored an excellent 80 not out and there was good support by Dave Croudace (27) and Saran (14no) as Monmouth passed 177 with 20 balls to spare.
