A MONMOUTH licensee is appealing for witnesses after his partner was assaulted on Sunday night.
Mrs Linda Palmer suffered bruising in the incident at the Queen's Head Hotel on Sunday night. Monmouth Police are investigating.
Licensee Mr Stephen Orchard said that Mrs Palmer was in the pub when a group of people who had been drinking elsewhere came in and demanded a drink after hours. When they were refused one of them threw Mrs Palmer onto her back. The group then ran off.
"My lady is only five feet tall and this thug was about 6' 2" and weighing around 16 stone. She hasn't been able to sleep since the incident.
"Several people regularly enjoy our hospitality and I am appealing to anyone who saw the incident to come forward."
