BRITISH Transport Police are appealing for information after a 13-year-old girl was reportedly sexually assaulted on board a train travelling between Lydney and Severn Tunnel Junction.

The girl was on the Cheltenham to Maesteg train when a man touched her inappropriately at around 2.30pm on 4th February.

Launching their appeal this week, police say they are searching for a white male, around 30 years old of medium build, with ginger curly hair. He was wearing a black baggy jacket, dark tracksuit bottoms and red trainers.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who may have any information which could help with the investigation.

In particular, officers would like to speak to a woman who came to the victim’s assistance on board the train, before disembarking at Chepstow railway station. She is white, around 30 years old, with long red/ purple dyed hair.

If you know who the woman is, or who the offender is, you are asked to contact British Transport Police by calling 0800 405040 or text information to 61016, quoting 371 10/3/17.
