A 56 year-old man has been killed after a road traffic collision on the M4 this morning.

At approximately 4.10am on Monday 14th December 2015, Gwent Police received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the M4 at Junction 28, Tredegar Park Intersection.

A 56 year old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A 29 year old passenger was uninjured. Both the driver and the passenger are from Republic of Ireland.

A 45 year old man from Merthyr Tydfil has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Drivers should expect delays eastbound on the M4, with only one lane currently open. Drivers are advised to plan their journeys to avoid this area. The travel situation is anticipated to continue until lunch time today.
