A MONMOUTH man who terrorised elderly residents in a caravan park has been jailed for eight months.

Marc Smith, 38, of no fixed abode, was arrested for breaching three Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBO) following a period of antisocial behaviour.

Whilst living in an old derelict factory off Hadnock Road in Monmouth, he terrorised the elderly residents of neighbouring Riverside Park, lighting fires around the estate and making verbal threats towards the residents.

He has chased local youths through the Chippenham Playing Fields and the town centre making threats and throwing stones and sticks at them.

PC Chris Butt of Gwent Police said: “He is generally anti-social in his nature and displays himself as an aggressive and argumentative individual. “

Following his arrest for breaching a Restraining Order last year, Smith was granted with a CBO excluding him from Hadnock Road Industrial Estate and neighbouring Riverside Park. This also excluded him from entering Chippenham Fields in Monmouth.

He is also prohibited from acting in any manner which could cause any person alarm or distress. Smith breached his CBO on three separate occasions in November 2016 and was arrested and placed on remand. He was found guilty of all breaches at Newport Crown Court on 29th March and received an eight month custodial sentence.
