POLICE are investigating two further burglaries in the Monmouth area that took place on the evening of Wednesday 30th September.

As reported in last week’s Beacon, four homes were also broken into on the 22nd and 23rd September.

The first burglary happened in New Dixton Road, where entry was gained through smashing one of the rear windows. Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting log number 541 30/09/15.

The second burglary took place in High Field Road, where the rear door was damaged. Another resident in the same street also reported that their security light had been damaged. Call 101 quoting log number 67 1/10/15.

Police have advised residents to be vigilant. Anyone who has seen anything suspicious, particularly people or cars loitering should call 101.

If anyone can provide a description of any vehicles such as the colour, make, model and registration number, or the clothing of anyone unusual, this will help police in their enquiries.

Police are urging residents to lock their doors, take the keys out of the lock and store them out of sight. Officers are encouraging residents to close blinds or curtains during the evenings when they have the lights on. Anyone going away is advised to ask a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on the house, even asking them to park their car on your drive, and are reminded to cancel any expected deliveries.
