Around 100 players, parents, brothers, sisters and grandparents from the Under 8s, 9s and 10s of Monmouth Young Rugby blew off the Christmas cobwebs on Boxing Day by taking part as the Guard of Honour for the Dragons v Blues local derby in Newport.

The boys had a 40-minute coaching session with the WRU before the game and then met players and watched the Dragons warming up.

At half-time the boys all had the opportunity to run around the pitch with a lady running for charity.

The Dragons won the game 22-16 with Wales star Toby Faletau scoring a try and Monmouth's own Hallam Amos playing well for the home side.

Everyone from the club who went along had a great afternoon and evening, one of the many social events organised by the club and supported enthusiastically by the whole family.
