The ever-popular Trier-based event regularly attracts 200,000 spectators to the region, and 2012 sees 27 new spectator points including a new 9km spectator stage at Peterberg.
The event features real variety, from the sharp corners of the vineyard stages, the deceptive roads of the Baum-Holder military training area, finally the high speed asphalt of the Saarland region. It's a real test of man and machine.

Saturday sees the Baum-Holder ranges and the famous 47km Panzerplatte stage complete with the famous jump. Sunday sees the 30km Dhrontal test with the seven downhill hairpins in the vineyard areas and a fitting finale with the Circus Maximus power stage in the narrow streets of downtown Trier.
Citroen's Sebastian Loeb has made the event his own down the years with eight consecutive victories and fresh from a superb victory in Finland, with 2011 Rallye Deutschland victor Sebastian Ogier out in a Skoda S2000, the Frenchman will be odds-on for yet another victory.
The high quality entry will feature a strong contingent of young guns who have impressed during this year, including Evgeny Novikov, Ott Tanak, Thierry Neuville plus Skoda's S2000 pairing Andreas Mikkelsen and Sebastian Ogier continuing their preparation for next year with the VW Polo WRC.
The DRM will run over the first two days for national drivers in the Deutsche Rallye Meisterschaft, also an Historic event will run behind the DRM over Friday and Saturday's stages, before their finale over the Circus Maximus power stage on Sunday morning.
