SUDBROOK CC notched their 42nd goal in four matches to take over as leaders of Division 1.
The free-scoring outfit overtook Mathern on goal difference thanks to a 4-0 victory at Undy Athletic.
Mathern's Gill Cup match against Thornwell A was cancelled as Thornwell were unable to raise a team and the same predicament forced Chepstow Athletic to cancel their league encounter with Underwood A.
Sudbrook's goals came via skipper Dave Sefton's bullet header, Keenan Perrett's penalty and the almost inevitable goals from strike partners Zak Hitchens and Rob Thorn, leaving co-manager Daryl Cann delighted: "If someone predicted we'd score 11 and concede none against Severn Tunnel and Undy. I wouldn't have believed them," he said.
"We have really gelled now. We had a lot of quality players come in at the start of the season who hadn't played together before, but they now have an understanding for the type of football they play."
Cann was also keen to praise his team's opponents.
"We could have been 3-0 up in the first 20 minutes but their keeper Ziggy Niblett pulled off three awesome saves to keep them in it."
The other Division 1 match saw Chepstow Town win 3-1 at home to Caldicot Castle A.
Shock of the day in Division 2 came at Underwood where the B team lost 3-0 to Severn Tunnel B.
"It was a truly excellent display," said Tunnel manager John Abram.
"Daryl Berry scored a screamer and Sam Barrett added the others."
Underwood are still top, second-placed Chepstow Town B – who were without a match – slipped to fourth as Severn Bridge won 5-1 at Portskewett and Sudbrook thanks to goals from Steve Jones (2), Ali McDonald, Joel Butcher and an own goal.
Mathern B also enjoyed that winning feeling when they edged out Caldicot Town B 3-2.
"Caldicot lost four players with different injuries but went in level at half time," said Mathern's manager Gary Burchill.
"We gave away two soft goals but replied with scores from Callum England and Jack Stewart with sub Rob Wood scoring the winner against Town's battling 10 men."
In other results, Tintern Abbey B beat Severn Tunnel C 8-0 and Castle B won 8-1 at Sudbrook CC B.
