Undy B edged a five-goal thriller against third-placed Chepstow Town A in the East Gwent U/14 Junior League.

An early Undy strike was replied to by Chepstow Town striker Ben Thomas, with a fantastic strike from the edge of the area into the top left hand corner, past the outstretched arms of Undy keeper.

Chepstow were awarded a penalty on the stroke of half-time that was put wide of the target, keeping the half time score line at 1-1.

An outstanding display by faultless Chepstow Town defender and man-of-the-match Charlie Price kept the Undy frontline at bay, together with James Maris-King, George McCarron, Louis Bibby, Ollie Hayes, Ellis Roberts and new recruit James Byrne.

Undy punished Chepstow with two early strikes in the second half despite Chepstow dominating possession.

With 10 minutes to go, Thomas bagged his and Chepstow's second of the afternoon, to set up a tense finale.

Chepstow continued to push for the equaliser with a pin point cross by Alzares Stephens to the oncoming forward line of Harry Thorne and Ethan Dunscombe, who could not find the target.

The midfield duo of Reg Bynon and Harry Martyn pressed the Undy defence up until the final whistle, but could not capitalise on their dominance.

Chepstow Town coaches Jason Thorne and Andy Bynon commented that every Chepstow Town player worked their socks off for the full 70 minutes and showed incredible character in pushing for a late leveller.
