Monmouth Cricket Club marked their return to Welsh cricket with the Thomas, Carroll Glamorgan and Monmouthshire League Division Three title.
Paul Swingwood's men sealed the crown – their first league title since 2005 – after romping to an eight-wicket win over Llantwit Fardre in their final game of the season.
The success completes a treble for sports clubs in the border town – Monmouth Town Football Club and Monmouth Rugby Club also won league titles last season.
However, the cricket club might not achieve promotion depsite their title glory.
Due to the high percentage of matches being lost to rain, the league executive committee could invoke 'Clause 10' which means no promotion or relegation across all divisions.
In the final game of the season last Saturday (1st September), Fardre were immediately under pressure at 49-6 thanks to opening duo Jon Roberts (3-18) and Dan Risk (2-25).
Some lusty blows from Walsh (23) was the only innings of note as Fardre collapsed to 82 all out inside 30 overs.
Spinners Alim Hansraj and Dave Teague both claimed two scalps while Andy Bowley wrapped up the innings.
In reply, Monmouth survived the early loss of Matt Jones to cruise home in 15.3 overs. Ben Turner struck a run-a-ball 46 before being dismissed by a smart catch in the deep.
It was left to skipper Swingwood (26 not out) to strike to winning runs to spark jubilant scenes at Monmouth Sports Ground.
The match balls were sponsored by Ian Bowen and former chairman Pat Baker.
Despite a season ravaged by rain Monmouth, sponsored by JD Wetherspoon, were able to play 10 league games, winning eight, losing one and nine matches were lost to rain.
Monmouth finished with an average of 17.44 points, almost a point ahead of second-placed Pontymister (16.43).
However, Monmouth can take plenty of consolation from some fine individual performances.
Teague was once again the star batsman, smashing 448 runs at an average of 74.67, including 139 against Upper Rhondda.
Josh Grey (267 runs at 53.4) and Turner (210 runs at 21) also shone.
In the bowling department, Risk claimed 18 wickets at 13.56, followed by Jon Roberts (17 wickets at 13.24) and Teague (13 wickets at 10).
Matt Jones, who deputised as wicket keeper for much of the season, claimed seven catches with Swingwood taking six, including four in one game.
Meanwhile, Monmouth 2nd XI's final league game against Llantwit Fadre 2nd XI was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch.
However, Dave Wilding's men finished runners-up in 2nd XI Division Two, a place behind title-winners Dinas Powys 2nds.
