MONROSS Trailblazer Emma Davies took on the Beast of Llangattock 20-miler in the Brecon Beacons on Saturday, with more than 3000ft of steep climbing and descents in sweltering heat.
She came home 40th in five hours 20 minutes 49 seconds to take the over-50 women's class.
And despite the exhausting effort, it proved worth it for the hill-top views, with Emma describing it as: "A beautiful, well organised race."
Club mates Rachael Aitken and Danny Ward also took on the Into The Woods trail race in Clun, Shropshire, coming home second and fourth females respectively in the 10k race, which took in beautiful thick forestry, weaving around stunning single track trails and pathways.
The route also included 800ft of elevation with a fun, fast downhill finish, with Rachael finishing fastest over-35 woman placing 15th overall in the 98-strong field in 56.16, just 39 seconds behind Hereford & County AC teenager Saffi Read.
Danny was just behind in 19th overall, taking the senior woman's prize in 57.52.
Fellow Blazers Matt Webb and Jess Rainey also raced the Jon Ward 5k on Sunday morning on the 1km cycle track at Hereford Leisure Centre, organised by Hereford Couriers.
Matt completed the race in 21.55 to finish sixth over-35 man, while new member Jess placed fourth senior woman in a new PB 21.55.
Meanwhile, Blazers are looking forward to hosting their own Blaze the Biblins race on Sunday, October 5.
A club spokesperson posted: “There will be caves, rivers, hills and views, all in a 10k run!
“It's hard to read that when it's 28°C outside, but I can guarantee, It's nearly time...”
