SPIRIT of Monmouth Running Club's mixed team were the second Welsh club home in the Cotswold Way Relay, and 24th overall in a field of 59.
It was the club's first outing in this prestigious event which is now in its 23rd year and is hosted by Team Bath Athletic Club.
The race follows the Cotswold Way across 103 miles, divided into 10 stages of varying distances between seven and 12 miles and the race includes challenging ascents between 200-535m.
Starting at 7am in Chipping Campden, the relay finished outside Bath Abbey in the evening. Each stage began with a mass start at the expected finish time of the first runner from the previous stage.
Team captain Martin Blakebrough ran Stage 1 from Chipping Campden to Stanway House, followed by Brian Evans (Stage 2), Lee James (Stage 3), Robert Nelson (Stage 4), Russell Finch (Stage 5), Ian Law (Stage 6), Sarah Clifton (Stage 7), Matt Unsworth (Stage 8) and Nerys Chaplin (Stage 9). Tracey Burns ran the final leg of the race which finished outside Bath Abbey.
