Monmouth RFC began celebrating their 140th season on Saturday 2nd November with a celebratory luncheon at their newly-refurbished club house.
The lunch was attended by sponsors, committee men and patrons of the club, all of whom enjoyed a hilarious talk from Russia and Dragons coach, and former Welsh captain, Kingsley Jones.
Neil Muir and his catering team provided an excellent meal and together with complementary drinks, a great afternoon was had by all.
Chairman Lloyd Davies said: 'It was great to start our 140th season celebrations in the new refurbished club house.
"The club looks excellent and provides a fantastic facility for members, patrons and individuals interested in becoming involved in the club.
"It was great to see all of the individuals that have worked so hard to ensure the success of the club over the past few years at the lunch.
"It is important that we always remember those that are less fortunate than us and it was fantastic that we raised over £450 for the Ty Hafan Children's Hospice as a result of all of our attendees entering into a raffle on the day."
