MONMOUTH Petanque Club has made a good start to the new league season with two wins and two draws which leaves it handily close to the top of the Boules in Gwent league in third place.

It also played a friendly match against Abergavenny Petanque Club which was disrupted by thunder showers and ultimately resulted in a win for Abergavenny.
