ROCKFIELD Rovers won a penalty shoot-out at Underwood, and Tintern Abbey beat Chepstow Town 3rds 3-2, to make it through to meet each other in April 4’s Fishwick Cup final at Sudbrook CC FC.

Rovers fought out a 0-0 stalemate before penalties, and missed their opening spot-kick to trail 1-0.

But the hosts then missed two as Rockfield sub Ryan Macullum and 17-year-old Ryan O’Keefe fired home for 2-1.

And although Underwood scored again, Rhys Jones and keeper Ben Johnson both converted to send Rovers through 4-2.

Beside the Abbey, Tintern’s prayers were answered by an Ollie Moss brace and one from John Hitchens to lead 3-0 with 30 minutes left.

And although a Darryl Reynolds own goal five minutes from time and a stoppage time Connor Hughes penalty made it 3-2, Tintern held on.

Also Wyeside, Redbrook Rovers beat North Gloucestershire One promotion rival visitors Yorkley 4-1.

Tom Wareham slotted a through ball past the keeper on 17 minutes, but Yorkely scrambled an equaliser at the back post for1-1 at half-time.

The visitors also hit the bar from distance after the restart, but Rovers responded with goals from Ieuan Frost, Scott Windley and Wareham again to take the points.

Elsewhere, Chepstow 1sts lost 3-1 at Ardal South East leaders Caerphilly after leaking three goals in eight minutes midway through the first half, Oliver Melling’s 37th-minute reply only proving a consolation.

But the Jockeys 2nds ride high at the top of East Gwent One after a 5-1 home win over Caldicot Castle, Bailey Hobbs and Luca Goddard firing braces and Lucas Owen one.

Glascoed also beat Pontnewynydd 2nds 5-0 at Llanarth to stay second in Gwent Central 1, Kai Bevan firing a hat-trick (9, 22, 77) and Josh Thomas a brace (3, 51).
