MONMOUTH Town reserves continued their good start to the season with a 2-1 home win on Saturday.

The home side scored very early and had chances to go further ahead but it was a defender’s error that allowed them to go 2-0 up with a well chipped goal.

With a two goal advantage the home side tried to be a bit too clever instead of playing safe and Caerleon regrouped and scored. From then on the game could have gone either way, the warnings were there with Monmouth’s keeper already getting hands to a close range header pushing it wide, but the home side held on to record the win.
