A fishing taster for children aged six and upwards proved quite a catch, with youngsters and their parents turning out in force despite unsettled weather conditions. They all caught and released a selection of coarse fish including gudgeon, roach, rudd, bream, common carp and mirror carp. The event was held at a local lake by Redbrook Angling Club and gave juniors the opportunity to receive free professional tuition from coach Nick Oakley, with the bait and equipment provided. It was sponsored by the Redbrook Village Trust with funds raised by the 'Live on the Wye' music festival. Redbrook Angling Club organiser Ian Childs said: "It was a great day out; everyone caught fish and went home with a smile, as well as a Certificate of Merit, goodie bag and fishing pole ready to go. "Big thanks to our coaches Nick and Lee, the Redbrook Village Trust and everyone who turned out to make it a successful event."
