Matt Edwards and co-driver Will Rogers (pictured) followed up their excellent Wyedean result with a solid 10th overall, first in class, on last Saturday's (2nd March) Malcolm Wilson Rally.
Round 2 of the REIS-Get Connected BTRDA series took crews to the Lake District for 45 miles of some of the toughest forests in the UK.
The event attracted a very high quality entry for the classic forests of Hobcarton Comb Greystoke Grisedale and Wythop.
For the second event running a down-on-power engine saw them losing time to their rivals, and having to push really hard to maintain a top 10 position during the day.
A puncture in Grisedale North saw them drop 50 seconds, which saw them drop to 12th, but a spirited drive over the final two stages saw them claw their way back into the top 10 with a good haul of points.
"We had to push hard to maintain a top ten position but it was an excellent event, a real tough challenge," said Rogers.
Rob Smith and Ross Weir were hoping to put the disappointment of their Wyedean retirement behind them in the Weir Laundry Equipment Subaru Impreza. These two finished 18th overall, 11th in class.
The event was won by Euan Thorburn and Paul Beaton in a Focus WRC.
The next round of the series heads back south for the Minehead-based Somerset Stages on 20th April.
