The Devauden 10K challenge, which was a runaway success in its first outing last year, is taking place again on the May Day Bank Holiday, Monday 6th May.
As well as the 10K race for anyone over 15, there will also be a 3K race for 9-11 and 12-14 year olds, and short races around the village hall playing field for those under eight.
Last May, 237 competitors braved the rain to compete around the tracks and paths of Chepstow Park Woods, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Both 10K and 3K courses are entirely off-road.
Peter Ward of Llanishen, Monmouthshire, won last year's 10K race in 38 minutes 47 seconds, while the first woman home took 44 minutes and 52 seconds.
There will be prizes for all age categories and special prizes for the fastest unaffiliated male and female runners from the three surrounding villages of Devauden, Itton and St Arvans.
This year there will also be a team competition.
The 3K race will start at 10am and the main event at 11am. The under 8 races will be held during the main race.
The event will again be sponsored by Western Power Distribution, the electricity company which serves the Midlands, South West and Wales.
Pre-entry will be available shortly via the Devauden village website.
