PENALLT & Redbrook CC secured Forest Hundred victory with four balls to spare in midweek, following a fantastic run chase at home to Goodrich.
Batting first at Pelham fields, Goodrich made a strong start through openers Sam Griffiths and Joe Griffiths before Kuldeep Singh dismissed the latter for 16 thanks to a brilliant Abin catch (45-1).
Sam was particularly aggressive, finding boundaries throughout the power play and carried his bat for 67 off 53 balls as the visitors finished on 156-2 from 100 balls, Jack Waldis adding 22 and Harry Mutlow 21 not out, with Singh taking 2-26.
Penallt lost Amal Suku for seven (29-1) in the power play after an entertaining start that included a huge six.
Captain Vipin Sathy then took charge, playing an attacking knock of 43 runs including two sixes and five fours before being bowled by James Morton (89-2).
Dilmohan Singh then joined the chase alongside opener Cameron Lee, the new man taking the attack to the bowlers smashing 48 runs from just 24 balls, including two sixes and five fours before being bowled by Waldis (145-3).
Lee remained calm scoring 43 runs from 35 balls with six boundaries before new man Rajesh SR scored the winning single, as the hosts completed a memorable seven-wicket victory (157-3).
And to complete a great week, Penallt & Redbrook secured a 95-run Gloucestershire League win at Tormarton on Saturday,
Tom Allan smashed 55 runs, including 12 fours, before Cameron Lee joined Liam Hurcombe at the crease with positive intent, immediately launching a huge six.
Liam looked destined for a century before being caught in the 36th over for a brilliant 94 runs, including 12 boundaries, before Lee scored an excellent 60 as Penallt posted an impressive 245-6.
Tormarton’s openers started aggressively, but Kuldeep Singh produced a sensational spell, taking 3-29 to remove the middle order, while Vipin Sathy provided excellent support with 3-31 as the hosts were dismissed for 150.
