MONMOUTH Cricket Club will be running the fun-packed Dynamos programme at the Sports Ground from Friday, May 8, at 5.30pm.

Dynamos Cricket is the England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) popular participation programme for boys and girls aged 8 to 11 years.

The club will be organising eight, one-hour sessions to provide children with non-stop cricket fun.

Dynamos is designed to introduce children to the sport, teaching them new skills, helping them make new friends and have a great time doing so.

Each week there will be a focus on a different cricket skill to help build each child’s confidence and ability, before they take part in a 60-ball countdown cricket match.

Dynamos Cricket will also help grow each child's love of the sport, and give them the opportunity to socialise in a safe environment.

Dates for the eight Dynamos sessions, all on Fridays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at Monmouth Sports Ground, Chippenham Fields, are: May 8, 15; June 5, 12, 19, 26; July 3, 10.

Meanwhile, pre-season indoor training for Monmouth CC’s U11 and U13 age-group teams resumes at Monmouth Leisure Centre Sports Hall, Old Dixton Road, this Sunday (22 March) from 1pm to 2.30pm.

Coaching, for boys and girls up to 14, is being provided by the club's ECB Core Coaches.

And the club’s pre-season indoor training for women’s and senior players continues this Sunday (22 March), at Haberdashers’ Monmouth School Sports Club, Hadnock Road, from 11am to 1pm.
