Despite the deluge of the previous weekend, Raglan Parc Golf Course returned to playing duties on Wednesday in time for the Senior Captain's Tankard.
Although playing at its longest because of the damp conditions the course had stood up to the rains very well.
The seniors were more than delighted to have a dry day for the Tankard and for the first time in eight weeks the umbrellas stayed in the bag.
The standard of play was high with Martyn Richardson eventually running out winner with 38 points beating Mike Williams into second place on countback from Brian Lewis, both of whom scored 36 points.
After presentation of the tankard, captain Stuart Bradley was wished many happy returns and his birthday was celebrated with mulled wine and mince pies.
