Severn Tunnel travelled to last year's opponents at the same stage of the Amateur Cup preliminary round, Shaftesbury Youth, but this year they were somewhat of an unknown quantity having changed divisions.
Tunnel took nothing for granted and produced an excellent first half display to kill off their hosts and then the second half was more of a stroll.
Youth were playing a very high line, trying to catch striker Thomas Atkins offside, but they weren't allowing for runners from midfield.
The chances being created by the dominant Tunnel though were much outweighing the incorrect decisions. In reality Tunnel probably should have been 12 up at half-time, but it was only five, and this was mainly down to not taking clear cut chances.
It was only a matter of time before they would score though and when they did the floodgates opened.
First, auxiliary striker, Chris Taylor was set free by Atkins, rounded the keeper and smashed home from six yards, then Rhys Briscoe continued his scoring form, adding the second quickly after.
Atkins himself then scored when a mix-up from a long kick by Daniel Moores allowed him to easily round the keeper and tap home.
Two more were added before the break, James Price getting his first of the season, tapping in from a Taylor pull back, and Taylor added his second in a reversal of passes with Price.
The second half was less frantic with the game already won and Tunnel eased off the gas, only scoring three. The lively Tom Picking came off the bench and grabbed a quick double and Atkins got his second after being found exquisitely by Gary Moores' fine cross, he beat two men and smashed home from a tight angle.
Tunnel will host Gwent County First Division side Blaenavon Blues in the first round proper on 1st November.
