THE Chepstow and District Darts League winter season commenced this week, and the ’A’ league had some very close games.
Chepstow Athletic Club ’A’ beat Chepstow Football Club, with Dave Matthews of the Athletic club hitting a 180, and Andy Jones of the Football Club taking out a 120 checkout. Meanwhile, ladies singles champion Alison Thornhill took the honours for the home team winning the final match of the night to win it 5-4.
Jon Worsley hit two 180’s for Sedbury and Tidenham British Legion as they beat the Huntsman Hotel 5-4, with Phil Brace taking the final match to win it.
The final game in the ’A’ league was another 5-4 result, with the Burnt Barn Club ’A’ taking the points against their rivals Burnt Barn Club ’C’.
In the ’B’ League the Carpenters Arms ran out easy winners, beating Thornwell Football Club 13-2, and another team who had a big win were Chepstow Athletic Club ’B’ who beat the Village Inn 10-5.
In a much closer game Chepstow Rugby Club beat the Burnt Barn Club ’B’ 8-7.
