CHEPSTOW Boxing Club prospect Patrick Larkin enjoyed an easy passage into next weekend’s Welsh Junior final when his scheduled opponent failed to appear.

The club’s head coach Steve Woods said Larkin will meet North Wales boxer Connor Burns from Llandudno in the final due to take place at the Three Saints Hotel in Llantrisant.

“I watched Burns box today (Sunday) and I think Larkin will prove to be too strong for him in the final,” Woods said.

“It should make for a very good final and one I’m really looking forward to,” he added.

Chepstow boxers Aiden Hampsey and Elijah Caroll are due to box in Bideford next Saturday with Larkin taking to the ring in Llantrisant the following day.
