GWENT County League side Caldicot Castle have announced the appointment of a new manager to replace Dave Adamson.
The club advertised for a new manager after Adamson made known his intention to retire from management at the end of last season.
The club's committee has moved quickly to replace him by offering the position to Severn Tunnel boss Steve Duddridge.
In a statement, Adamson spoke of the club's delight over the decision.
"From a Castle point of view, we are delighted to appoint Steve as manager," he said.
"After speaking to him it's clear his ambitions match those of the club.
"He's done very well at Severn Tunnel, he seems very organised and has a lot of contacts so hopefully he can bring in a few fresh faces to add to our squad.
"We are very excited about this appointment and are already looking forward to the new season."
Duddridge (pictured) has been at the East Gwent Senior League side for three years, during which they have finished in the top half of the table and reached two cup finals, losing to Sudbrook CC in 2014 and winning the Nathan James Centenary Cup last month.
When appointed as Severn Tunnel's manager, he said his five-year plan was to build the team to challenge for the Division 1 title and, ultimately, to take them into the Gwent County League.
Castle have just finished a nervy season in Division 3 of the GCL and only escaped the drop in the last few weeks of the campaign.
One of Adamson's biggest problems was the dwindling attendances at training sessions and one of the new manager's major tasks is likely to be devising a strategy to improve that.
